Orienteering race 1:29:50 [4] *** 7.3 km (12:18 / km) +433m 9:29 / km
spiked:15/17c shoes: VJ Falcons 3 (yellow)

WCOC local event at Pond Mountain - Red Course. Errors on two controls of ~3 and ~8 minutes, both due to loss of map contact. A fine course designed by Boris and set by Marie and Becks and others. Beautiful day, upper 60's and sunny. Forerunner measured 8.84 km (and 433 climb).

Field Checking 4:37:55 [1] *** 10.83 km (25:39 / km) +377m 21:51 / km

Moving streamers around at Moreau and checking out some routes. Highlight of the day is receiving the latest map update. Every one of my control points is now in a mapped area! And there's lots of mighty fine stuff.

Road Run 31:41 [3] 3.61 mi (8:47 / mi) +59m 8:22 / mi
shoes: NB878 - #9

A bit cooler (upper 70's) but humid. 66S, Richmond Rd. to Bashford and back. Lots of dog noise passing the barn on Richmond (both ways). One of them gets the invisible fence concept and the other probably doesn't because he was chained. One of these guys came out a nipped me several years ago, so I'm wary.

Road Run 33:01 [3] 3.73 mi (8:51 / mi) +49m 8:30 / mi
shoes: NB878 - #9

Lots of "training" hours in the past week, but all at intensity 1, so figured I'd better do some running even though it was 85 degrees. 66N and back.

There's a map snippet of the "good stuff" at Moreau on the main event page (at the bottom).
