Snowshoe race 44:58 intensity: (12 @2) + (50 @3) + (43:56 @4) 4.08 mi (11:01 / mi) +108m 10:11 / mi

Brave The Blizzard in the Albany Pinebush. Softish snow but mostly well tracked. After a loop in the field at the start to spread things out, most of the race was on single track (with many areas where you could pass if need be). Course was changed (for the better in my opinion) from the previous two years, reducing the amount of out and back on the same trail, increasing the distance a bit and adding a few more small hills. Sunny and upper 20's so perfect weather for a snowshoe race. Finished 44th out of 207 (and 9/~33 in M50-59). Passed near the end by a guy wearing just a singlet and shorts!

Score-O on snowshoes at Moreau, 2 hour time limit. Got them all, although my route probably could have been a bit more efficient. Most controls were orange/yellow level since many were also used for Ski-O. About 6-12" of sugary snow. Cold (single digits when I started) with snow towards the end. Forgot the FR. Distance is straight line for the route I took (minimum distance route is about 600m shorter).

Snowshoe 42:02 intensity: (4:11 @1) + (2:04 @2) + (34:20 @3) + (1:27 @4) 2.05 mi (20:29 / mi) +30m 19:36 / mi

Trudging around the backyard in a foot of new snow with more still falling. Breaking trail most of the time (except for a few hundred meters where my neighbor had skied). Alternated "running" and walking, with more time walking but had no trouble keeping the heart rate up. Ventured off into a couple of the adjoining properties for some variety. Finished at about 35 minutes but then walked another loop in already broken trail. Temp in the low 20's but quite pleasant (OK, it's an acquired taste).
