Bummer. As I was warming up for Curly's snowshoe race, my left calf tightened up and I ended up deciding not to run the race and risk further damage. So what was planned as a double-header (including Bye-Bye-O later in the afternoon) was two DNS's. After the snowshoe race started I jogged around for awhile on snowmobile trails and also covered the last km or so of the single track of the race course. Watched the winners finish, which I don't usually (ever) get to do.

Another few loops around the back yard in the track we had broken earlier in the week. Track was uneven and mostly soft with an occasional remnant of crust. Felt pretty good and pushed fairly hard at times. About 30F with light snow falling. Used a headlamp.

Snowshoe around the backyard in tracks which Janet had broken earlier in the day. Snow is deep and soft so even with the broken track it was still pretty intense. Walked quite a bit. A balmy-feeling temperature of about 32F (relative to Monday morning's -10F). Wore a headlamp.
