Field checking at Moreau for the US Champs Middle next Spring. All advanced control sites are checked (pending vetting, course consultant input, additional course tweaking and varmits eating my markers). Had to find improved locations for 5 or 6 controls. Found a few more thiings to add to the map too. Woods a little damp from yesterday's rain but the marshes were generally dry. Temperature around 70, so quite pleasant.

Rocky Mountain Goat on Diamond Bay map. A fine ending to a week of orienteering in the Laramie Range. With Soupbone most of the way - we tied for 16th place. Lots of rock features, plenty of sage and lots of opportunity to run (if only there were more oxygen). Good weather for running, partly cloudy, low 70's and breezy (="windy" anyplace other than Wyoming). Straight line distance 12.2 km.
