Troll Cup Preliminary Green X (Middle Distance) on High Rock map (2.7k SL, 85m). Technical New England terrain with plenty of rock and vegetation to bash through. Map was quite good, as was the course. Sunny and about 50F.

Had a good run, hitting them all pretty well. 1st M60, 3rd overall on Green X.

Troll Cup Final Green X Middle distance. On High Rock map in an area adjacent to the Preliminary and using the same finish chute. 3.5k SL, 110m climb. Good course except it seemed that several controls were on or near hilltops and a few had bags on the side from which we approached. A couple of longer legs than in the prelim, offering some good route choice options. A few degrees warmer than in the morning.

One bad control, otherwise a decent run. Lost over three minutes on the 2nd control which was only ~100m long. I think I checked an unmapped boulder very close to the one with the flag but then wandered off to the east to check some rocks there. As I left 2 I could see Tim P approaching, having made up the 4 minutes he started behind me. He caught me at 3 and we were together until about control 6. The rest of the course went well, taking the woods routes (vs trails) on both 3 and 11. 2nd on M60, 7th on Green X.

Short Sprint at Cemetery Hill (2.5km, 70m climb). Longish "sprint" with most controls in the woods but lots of running on trails or in fields. Fun course set by Phil Bricker. A couple of non-optimum route choices, especially when I misperceived where the circle was for #12. Sloppy on #13 trying to get around some green. 4th on the course but ~2:30 behind Clint and Tim so well out of contact for the chase start. Sunny with temperature in the 40s.

Final Sprint at Cemetery Hill. A chase start but with Clint and Tim ~2:30 ahead and Evalin about 1:20 behind, there was no head-to-head racing and except for the brief time that it took Isak to get by me I was running alone. Another nice course by Phil with some trickier legs and control sites than the preliminary. Pretty clean with a few hesitations in or near the circle to read the map detail. Took the trail rather than the cut-through going to 10, which was a bit longer.
