Kayaking at Fort DeSoto County Park (between Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico). Easy paddling around an area called Soldier's Hole. Most of the shore is covered with mangrove. Saw the usual assortment of birds who live near water in Florida.

Walking 1:28:34 [0] 2.03 mi (43:38 / mi)
ahr:69 max:86 shoes: NB 1210 "Leadville"

Walk on the nature trail at Fort DeSoto Park. One snake sighting, a southern yellow rat snake we think. Also several bizarre looking spiders, identified as spiny orb-weavers.

Run on the paved "multi-use" trail at Fort DeSoto. Low 70s and sunny with a breeze, which kept things cooler, at least on the way out.

Blue Spring SP near Orange City, FL. Went for a run after checking out the manatees who hang out in the outflow of the spring to keep warm enough to survive the winter (spring outflow is 73F year-round at ~100 million gallons per day!). Trail was sandy in places and pretty flat (duh - Florida). Saw an armadillo and a deer. Upper 60s and sunny.
