Blue Burn Trail Run at Blue Mountain Ski Area. Advertised as a 5M race but it was pretty obvious before we started that we were following the semi-permanently marked 4.5M course. Plenty of physical challenges in the process of climbing to the top of the ski area and getting back down: a long steady climb of ~100m over 1.1km, shortly followed by a 75m climb in ~250m up a double diamond ski trail, and a technical descent on very rocky single track (enhanced by damp leaves and loose dirt/gravel). Much of the race was on ski trails or gravel roads used to access the trails when they’re not snow-covered. Sunny and 70ish.
Reasonably satisfied with my race. I gained ground on people on the steep climbs and descents but then usually lost it back in the flatter sections. 13 out of 35 overall. 1st M60-69 by default. 5 minutes ahead of the 70+ guy. Race winner did 35 minutes - yikes!
D & L Trail, starting at Freemansburg. Downriver to the boat launch just beyond the Rt. 33 bridge, upriver to the Minsi Bridge in Bethlehem, them back to the car. Occasional stops to read signs and look at remnant canal stuff.

Appalachian Trail starting at the Bake Oven Knob parking lot heading northbound (and then heading southbound to return). Up and over Bake Oven Knob which has decent views to both sides of the ridge. Ran when I could but much of the trail is too rocky for running (AT in PA = Rocks). Nice clear day but on the warm side for running (upper 70s).

Jordan Parkway, including a trip back to the car to patch me up when performing a minor repair to the bike resulted in a not so minor gash in my thumb. Kept to flatter trails for the remainder of the ride since gear shifting with my bandaged left thumb was a little tricky. Nice day - sunny and 70s.
