Wednesday Nov 30

forest run 46:17 [3]
depression run

fairly fast through the terrain without the depressions on the way back. good physical training, can feel my back afterwards - there are a lot of low branches around too...

Monday Nov 28

trail run 41:55 [2]
depression run without the depressions

Sunday Nov 27

orienteering 51:35 [2]
Petit Mont Chauvet,
pose de balises... map started making more sense today!!
Cold, not as cold as the day before, but cold nonetheless. Out in the forest from 7am until 3pm... atelier depart with Cecile.

Saturday Nov 26

orienteering 1:18:54 [2]
Petit Mont Chauvet.
Posing in the snow, as unfortunately wrote earlier... Proper translation is put out controls in the snow... had a lot of trouble finding the prebalisage, white paper at ground level with a light dusting of snow is not the most visible :)

Thursday Nov 24

orienteering warm up/down 40:00 [2]
4 minute warm-up, 38 minutes (plus stoppage time) collecting controls afterwards. tired, good training
orienteering race 52:04 [4] 8 km (6:30 / km)
Taillis d'Epernon
CRIFCOU stage 1

same place as regionale a few weeks ago, decided to run it fairly hard without a compass... mostly succeeded... not fit enough to keep up the pace and a couple of mistakes... pretty happy nonetheless

lovely vaired forest and it's good to get out orienteering midweek (thanks to l'X)

Tuesday Nov 22

trail run 1:05:00 [3]
washing machine run! bois de la madeleine...

apres j'suis alle chez le medecin. drugs to ethnic cleanse some candida albicans colonies that took refuge in my throat and some vitamins and she thinks that should do the trick.

Monday Nov 21

Note
lab results today. no glandular fever, nothing too abnormal in the blood - all levels dropped by 10-20% bringing red blood stuff back into the normal range. Lymphocytes are a little below the normal range, doctor isn't worried.

Doctor will prescibe something for the "flore oropharyngee abondante et variee" growing down the back of my mouth when i go see her.

So perhaps I might start training normally again in the next few weeks!

Sunday Nov 20

orienteering race 1:46:00 [4] ***** 10 km (10:36 / km)
Lac de la Cassiere (?)

Aydat
WC training...
same place as with the belgians in August. Now seem capable of breaking 10 minute ks here in the not too distant future. No major disasters, a little slopppy early on. Otherwise, the lack of training is starting to show. No energy.

Probably the best (most technical) map I have orienteered on.

Saturday Nov 19

trail run warm up/down 15:00 [2]
orienteering race 44:50 [4] *****
Mazayes
Middle Distance Final, "chasing start" with butterfly. Ran reasonably well up until the last control which i made a hames of. Ran a few metres past it, saw a wall, saw the wall on the map and therefore ran off in the wrong direction. frustrating really...

Great terrain, although spent less time in the hardest stuff

Apparently beat TG on split 10!!!
orienteering race 43:51 [4]
Qualif Middle "new dark zone" Mazayes
World Cup training with French Squad

haven't analysed split times yet. Horsed up a couple of controls, otherwise pretty good. fantabulous terrain, very physical, intricate, cold

Wednesday Nov 16

trail run 37:00 [2]
gentle jog (apart from a couple of falls on steeps wet forest slope in runners)

went to doctor yesterday and got blood tests this morning. results monday... i suspect glandular fever but who knows...

tired in the afternoon and unproductive. better in the evening after eating well :)

Tuesday Nov 15

Note
Am I sick? Something ain't right, I think since September and the whole sorethroatscarletfeverlark.

Glands are swollen since Friday, running didn't seem to do them a whole lot of harm, but I want the to get better before stressing them again.

Doctor didn't seem to have any ideas, blood test and throat swab tomorrow...

aaaaaaagggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh

Sunday Nov 13

orienteering race 1:16:22 [4]
Taillis d'Epernon - Poigny la Foret, Rambouillet.
Regionale 5

Beaten 8 seconds by PM Lesaffre.... had a reasonably good run. Again took a little while to get into the map making a largish mistake at the 3rd and a small one at the 7th... maybe 4 mins mistakes total.

It's a nice map, with grass/heather/brambly undergrowth making the running physical. Eased up ever so slightly towards the end having overtaken JM which was a pleasant surprise. He's been orienteering way better than me the last few months.

Hitching there and back was interesting... six times to get there, three to get back. A very varied bunch that stopped...

Saturday Nov 12

trail run 1:08:50 [2]
Very low intensity run, trying not to bring on any nasty diseases... glands feel a little swollen... doctor's appointment next tuesday for a check-up. Bois de la Madeleine.

Friday Nov 11

running 37:17 [2]
to chevreuse canal and back, gently gently. after nightfall (10pm?)

Thursday Nov 10

orienteering 1:00:00 [3]
La chataigne map by nemour, next door to La Mer de Sbale where I had run before - first time on this map!!!

Good technical course set by MichelJ, around 5km in 35 minutes. 25 minute technical warm-down picking up controls at a slower pace.
Made mistakes early on but then got into the map and enjoyed the warm-down as an opportunity to really fit the map to the terrain - it's not evident here...
Small breakfast, 3h15 of constats, 10 minutes to present the race project, two bananas and a trip to l'X to get the bus wasn't the best physical preparation... hungry and tired afterwards. lovely day, great map.
forest run warm up/down 5:00 [3]
nemours, pre-run

Tuesday Nov 8

forest run 53:00 [3]
Depression run in the forest above the studio. Nice day.

Sunday Nov 6

orienteering race 1:22:00 [4]
Fontainebleau, La Carosse
First time racing in Bleau for a long time...

Beautiful forest. Made mistakes, quite a few mistakes. Relying more on relocation than on map-reading..... StephaneT ran 67?

Saturday Nov 5

trail run 1:39:34 [2]
along the old railroad, bck on the plateau to finish through the woods. mostly on trails

Wednesday Nov 2

forest run 50:00 [3]
depressions, bois de ste catherine
