1h48 or so - added a little for the five-minute fast warm-up :)

a couple of mistakes early on... not much later... physically tough, map was occasionally good... veg was a bit strange :)

course was flat, about 14km according to the defs, but apparently the scale was 12,5 rather than 10K as stated on the map!!

Saturday Jun 9

orienteering race 30:00 [5]
Orsay
2Sprint races
running on my own map wasa bit strange. Bruno the old was the planner. Valmo, Fabrice and some spaniard made for a pretty tough international competition!!

good fun!
map had a couple of problems - vegetation grew a lot since the map was made and a wee road appeared too!!

Cobdubh, W Cork,
Shamrock Day 3

Unbelievably great weather again today. Nice terrain. Map was slightly strange in a couple of places...

Made enough mistakes not to be happy with the run, happy though to have survived three days of tough physical and technical orienteering. Shamrock Rocks!!!!

Started early, non-competitively, before the chasing start in order to leave to catch a train to catch a bus to catch a plane to catch a bus to catch a metro to catch a bus to get home in France for 2.15 am... 15hrs of travel...

Slept very little the nigth before... slightly sunburnt on the legs, bright sunlight at 5 in the morning and oh the excitement :)
running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Sunday Jun 3

orienteering race 1:28:20 [4] 10 km (8:50 / km) +350m 7:31 / km
Kilcrohane, Shamrock Day 2
Overlapped with yesterday's map, but with pure blue skies and dazzling sunshine instead of the fog, it ddin't resemble much.

Messed up the first control several minutes and then most of the controls from 10 to 14 having overtaken john casey...
second half of the race went much better...

I used to be so much better at map-reading and running and stuff... guh

Marcus ran 75
running warm up/down 45:00 [2]
Start was on top of the mountain!!!!

Saturday Jun 2

orienteering race 57:30 [4]
Kilcrohane, Shamrock Oringen DAy 1

Glorious day for orienteering... raining lots beforehand so the ground was heavy; enough fog not to see 50m; lovely technical w cork terrain... what more could one ask for?

Managed to make close to 6 minutes of mistakes I guess, and Marcus ran 49, as did Rob Baker. I've got so bad at this sport...
running warm up/down 25:00 [2]
