bogtrotting hills 1:33:59 [3]

Up Minaun from Dugort, all in terrain. Foggy day, only nshine to be seen ws halfway up on Maumnaman... Walked some of the steeper bits, was tired on the way back...
Pity I didn't do this run again, had planned on it...

other 3:00 [1]

apart from running, the days before my parents' arrival were exercise-filled - this day I cycled over an hour and a half and walked maybe four hours... which was pperhaps a little excessive.

But in general, cycling over to Keel, going down swimming in Dugort or playing with the dogs or building dams with ismael or whatever is hefty cross-training.

bogtrotting 1:07:56 [3]

northways around slievemore, Achill Island. Came up the day before after spending sunday night in dublin airport.
36:43 out, 31:13 back, not optimal routes I don't think.

All entries from here until the end of my stay in Achill (11th August) were posted from memory so may contain inaccuracies. Times are correct, stored on watch.

orienteering race 1:18:21 [5] ***** 8.7 km (9:00 / km)

Bal des Rochers
Day 2
A big improvement. A really big improvement. Lovely terrain. Made a few small mistakes, mostly interpretation. There was a map exchange at the 24th, the red line from the 23rd ended in the middle of nowhere (close to the finish/spectator area) in the direction of an OOB area. I had my map folded so as to not see control 24 on the other side of this... lost almost two minutes working out what the hell was going on.

writing this a month on... so perhaps less details here than otherwise. It was hot. It became very hot, almost 40 degrees if not. I nearly died before getting the car to Montpellier airport (merci sandra!) to go to Frankfurt whence to Dublin.
