trail run warm up/down 15:00 [2]

orienteering race 44:50 [4] *****

Mazayes
Middle Distance Final, "chasing start" with butterfly. Ran reasonably well up until the last control which i made a hames of. Ran a few metres past it, saw a wall, saw the wall on the map and therefore ran off in the wrong direction. frustrating really...

Great terrain, although spent less time in the hardest stuff

Apparently beat TG on split 10!!!

orienteering race 43:51 [4]

Qualif Middle "new dark zone" Mazayes
World Cup training with French Squad

haven't analysed split times yet. Horsed up a couple of controls, otherwise pretty good. fantabulous terrain, very physical, intricate, cold

Note

Am I sick? Something ain't right, I think since September and the whole sorethroatscarletfeverlark.

Glands are swollen since Friday, running didn't seem to do them a whole lot of harm, but I want the to get better before stressing them again.

Doctor didn't seem to have any ideas, blood test and throat swab tomorrow...

orienteering race 1:16:22 [4]

Taillis d'Epernon - Poigny la Foret, Rambouillet.
Regionale 5

Beaten 8 seconds by PM Lesaffre.... had a reasonably good run. Again took a little while to get into the map making a largish mistake at the 3rd and a small one at the 7th... maybe 4 mins mistakes total.

It's a nice map, with grass/heather/brambly undergrowth making the running physical. Eased up ever so slightly towards the end having overtaken JM which was a pleasant surprise. He's been orienteering way better than me the last few months.

Hitching there and back was interesting... six times to get there, three to get back. A very varied bunch that stopped...
