Note
(sick)
it has been eight weeks since my last sore throat.

on sunday i was carousing well into the night in kiev and didn't get to sleep before flying to warsaw monday morning...
rested a bit on monday...
running tuesday
running wednesday, including three 400m fasst whcih got the heart pumping...
warsaw is 20 degrees cooler than kiev and i was wearing sandals the first few days here...
i had one small beer on tuesday

didn't feel like i slept well on tuesday night, but felt ok running on wednesday. that afternoon i started feeling dodgy, by evening i could feel the throat coming on...

hopefully avoiding close combat will mean it will disappear faster than the one in sweden.

Am I now destined to get a sore throat every time my body gets a bit run down???

running 1:00:00 [2]
gentle jog around lazienko park, or whatever it is called. i'll get it right soon enough. really nice place, so i suppose i'll go there more than once. did 3*400 on the nextdoor running track, 75, 72, 69... wouldn't believe a word of darren's about it being easy to break 60 :)
still 63 or so might be reasonbale by the end of the year here...

running 1:20:40 [3]
warsaw

arrived yesterday morning after great post-woc party on a boat down the dniepro followed by frinking and dancing on the island of luck...
managed not to collapse despite getting no sleep before heading to the airport where there were queues for everything... toughest was standing in line for passport control. don't know how shane made it, if he did ;p

didn't really sleep during the day much, so got a good night's sleep for the first time in ages... didn't even sweat much :) temperatures feel irish, but may well be in the 20s ;)

this morning went for a jog from the banach centre where i am staying the first two weeks... down to jazdow park where i re-ran a sprint race from a conference two years ago... then down to the waterfront, found a couple of nice paths, also a running track (400m style), nothing too long but mostly away from main roads and the worst of the pollution. more exploring to be done.

Warsaw is incredibly clean and western compared to kiev...
cheaper too, by the feel of things...
