running 23:43 [2] 3.96 km (5:59 / km)

I'm back, hopefully for good!

Tried out my new toy, Garmin Forerunner 305. It told me what I knew : not running very fast... but also distance and HR. Good stuff :)

I don't know whether it is because of the buildings, but the GPS data deviated a little bit from time to time, but were generally ok.

Took a while to install. The CD provided was worthless... doesn't work with non-US computers apparently (C++ ... Runtime Error!) ... had to download the new version from the website.

Looking up the route on Google Earth is pretty cool, don't yet know how to make it publicly accessible, I suppose exporting some sort of kml file perhaps...

Apart from that, the run was nice. Coldest I've ever run in apart from a couple of times in France. -6, feels like -6 according to weather.com. There's a light dusting of snow, lots of Christmas lights and only a few people, all trying to hide inside their coats... and it's foggy. Strange to think in Antofagasta it's still 21 degrees and sunny, and sun hasn't set yet :(

Note
well, surprise surprise.
After a couple of nights with next to no sleep followed by lots of time in some aeroplanes, followed by a 20 degree drop in temperature, Neil gets a sore throat. It's not awful (yet), but enough to keep me inside as much as poss.

Spent all yesterday indoors. Today I had to venture outside to get a train ticket for Berlin so as I can fly home for xmas. Baltic! Apparently it's -1 and feels like -6, according to weatherdotcom

Ireland is tropical in comparison
