orienteering 53:00 [2] 4.8 km (11:02 / km)

Tired again, so the goal was to just to run smoothly and cleanly without stopping. Essentially accomplished.

Terrain is heavy. Time included 5 mnutes to the start.
6 PM

orienteering 1:00:00 [3] 5.7 km (10:32 / km)

Relay training. Emil ran this in 40. Really nice orienteering, I made mistakes at the 2nd and then 10th control where I lost my place on the map and tried running another leg... oops, maybe two minutes there. Couple of other small bobbles, but the map is so nice it is hard to go very wrong.

Need to get way stronger to do this stuff well.

After three warm-weather training sessions, the heavens opened on the way to this session. Buckets of rain and big, fat hailstones had fifty cars stopped on the side of the motorway waiting for the storm to subside. Giac wasn't fazed.

Middle distance, rough but wonderful. Don't you just love Finnish mappers?

orienteering 1:00:00 [3]

first ten controls of the Jukola-camp route choice training. Rough and weird vegetation. Strangely mapped.
Don't you hate Finnish mapping?

from Täljö station,
long distance training for NOC 2011 :)

Lovely terrain, weather, orienteering.

Fell on the world's largest 2*2m anthill with the big giant ants growing out of it. Took a while to shake them off.

Were those bikinis in the park?

Stockholm is unrecognisable compared to a week ago...

Närkekvartetten Day 4

This was fantastic terrain, something of a surprise how pleasant it was after days 1&2 only a few hundred metres away, and the best course I have run in a good while. The forest was varied, the terrain too, with some a few Swedish small hills, Norwegian slopes and a little mining detail.

I was happy to have survived without any major errors, Winsplits 7/7 says I lost one minute, but I think I could have done maybe two minutes faster with an unrealistically good run. With all the major players at elitserien, the race was won in 37.

A good four days of orienteering.
