A fine end to WOC week with the French boys finally getting the gold they deserve after so many years. There was a lot of exciting spectating over the web; I can only imagine what it must have been like sur place. Nice to see the Irish finish off the week with a fine 22nd place in the Men's Relay.
Now, if only...
- IOF would realise technical = good
- IOF would realise middle = really good
- IOF would realise low-visibility technical relay = really really good
From WoO translation of TG's interview, post middle:
- I worked hard on developing a new technique to handle the terrain here, but in fact I did not even need it. I started out with the new technique, but then the visibility was so good that I could return to my normal technique. Looking far ahead to see the easily identifiable features, and run fast through the terrain
No surprise Tero won again today. He sounded disappointed that the race wasn't especially technical. Poor guy, and the poor people who compete for 2nd.
Maybe they have kept the interesting terrain for the relay.
