It is fantastic, but didn't arouse the usual ecstatic state, as I was mentally tired, fell asleep a third of the way through and staggered the rest of the course, plus halfway through I started worrying about my knee, possibly because I could slightly feel it (no pain, just awareness).

After hanging in the car for 15, it started to stiffen up a little, and felt it a little more again in the evening. Iced some. Not too bad, might be able to run again tomorrow, but next Saturday looks more and more stupid.

Skipped the second session.

In the morning I went to FDR, helped out a bit, put out a few SI units. Turnout was more quantity than quality.

Three scouts and two scout leaders came and paid 10$ to do two courses... maddening. I guess we needed to be clearer about rates.

Note

contours are 2.5m, I suspect the scale is more something like this:

Note

Just spent another five hours applying for a job. I had to submit 10 different files for this one.

This is such a bloody waste of time. Why can't they just let us teach and research. And it's terrible. I got so pissed I just used my usual teaching statement instead of responding to this:
"The applicant should present their pedagogical visions (1-2 pages). The applicant’s fundamental approach to teaching should be evident, along with how this philosophy is expressed in the applicant’s own work. Applicants should relate not only what they have done but also how it was done, why it was done in a particular manner, and what the results were. Likewise shall the applicants describe what they have learned in pedagogic courses and how this knowledge has been applied in the teaching.
The presentation should include the following:

A description of the applicant’s own view of knowledge, learning, teaching, and leadership, and how he or she has developed and applied this view
Reflections on one’s own work in relation to the goals and conditions prevailing in the work environment
Plans for the future
The applicant is encouraged to comment on implemented pedagogical activities against the background of the submitted documents."

Agggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Note

Bernie took this one, somehow :)

Knee is messed up, so just took pics from the woods today.

Note

At some point it was decided that any confusing or incoherent remark merited The Joe.

I don't think I wrote this before, but the juniors are a wonderful bunch.
