Saturday Jul 27 #

trail run 1:35:00 [3] 14.0 km (6:47 / km)

Ticknock towards Tibradden and back. Nice out.

Misplaced my Suunto cable again. Argh.

Tuesday Jul 23 #

Note

Early train to Bellegarde to save 40e on the TGV to Paris, thence to Cherbourg, where presumably there's still space on a boat.

Monday Jul 22 #

Note

Aubes Musicales!

Great African music, smiles and sunrise on the lake.

It does wreck me for the day, though, once the early euphoria wears off.

Sunday Jul 21 #

trail run 1:30:00 [1] 12.0 km (7:30 / km)

Not sure of distance. Hiked (with a small bit of trotting) from Refuge de la Loge to Col de la Faucille. Out for 2h30, advertised time was 3h30.

I stopped at the Col for tart and coffee and decided continuing on to Saint Cergue was a bit pointless. I was back in familiar territory -- I've organised an orienteering event at la Faucille, and went to St Cergue countless times -- and the Alps weren't visible with the haze.

Read the Valse aux adieux by Kundera in the mountain cool, then hitched a lift back down to town. The person who stopped was a Parisian, except she wasn't. Yvelines... oh, I lived in St-Remy-les-Chevreuse; oh, I'm from Chevreuse. She was a doctorante en physique à Orsay, down visiting CERN for a month. Fun times.
