An attempt at Niels's course on Aston Mountain. The terrain destroyed me again. Rocky ground, steep slopes, blueberry. Really tough going for a lot of it.

This is precisely why I use the word mountains to describe the Appalachians, although our western compatriots seem to disagree. They're not mountains because of their height. They're mountains because of how rugged they are.

I live in arguably one of the "flattest" parts of the Appalachians and I get physically wrecked almost every time I go out. And it's not like I'm some innocent dude who's never seen "real mountains." But it's absurd to think the only way to measure a mountain is by its height.

I'll write more on this in the future. It is just so clear every time I come back from training here. I get physically beaten down by the terrain.
