I have proposal on which I'd like to receive feedback from those reading my AP.
I'm currently in the process of organizing a couple US team training camps in the fall. Naturally, the primary purpose of these camps is to provide high-quality training and bonding time for the US teams, But I also see the opportunity for a side benefit.
I have a few Spanish friends who are interested in coming stateside for some of our fall races and some general tourism.
Would there be interest from the US community, and the Canadian, too, perhaps, if some of these guys were to give talks on some aspect of elite orienteering or orienteering in Europe? And would there be enough interest to justify it as a Team Fundraiser?
Topics could include 1) use of social media in orienteering, 2) promoting youth competition, 3) experience in international elite orienteering, but so much more.
Just to give some names and spark some more interest, the people I've spoken with so far who could give a talk physically or, at least, over Skype:
(Their accomplishments go far beyond this, but it's just a sampler)
