I decided to do Casa de Campo Backbanan because I wanted to inject some intensity into my legs. Easy runs get boring after a while. I also wanted to see how slow I had gotten compared to peak fitness. This was a 1:30 slower than my fastest time.
I'm a few kilos heavier and not in the same shape, but really the biggest difference was that I wasn't ready to push mentally. After taking so much time away from hard workouts, my mind's gone soft. Not that I'm worried about that at this moment, but I'll need to recover my mental fortitude if I'm going to fight off the attacks from BigWillyStyle and others at competitions this fall. This is gonna be fun.
