Hyner Half. I wanted to take advantage of my fitness and also start preparing the legs and mind to push hard all the way through the Highlander.

This did the trick. I don't know if I can get out of bed now.

Golden Eagle Trail. Spectacular, but probably best to do every season outside of summer. The first 4k of the trail were completely overgrown with nettles. I had to employ the backpack shield technique again.

Running from Hyner Run SP up to Hyner View. There is a road that goes up to Hyner View, but it's so much more meaningful when you earn a view with your own two legs.

2.5k of nettles to start off the run set the mood. It was really slow going. Had to use my running backpack as a shield for my legs.

I wanted to run on some trails in some cooler conditions. This did the trick. It was about 30C in town and about 24C up top. Only a few degrees, but soooo much nicer.
