did a little bit of everything today

started with a conconi test on a treadmill... starting pace 11 kmh - final pace 16 kmh... don't know it this second set of data will give us more insights than the first one... maybe I'm just special :)

then did a strengthening routine consisting of arms, abs... well yeah, arms and abs

then went on the rowing machine for an intense 10 mins

finished it off with a 25 minute nordic walking ergometer training with up to 170 watts

last indoor training before the season opener on saturday... somehow I don't feel ready yet but there's no way to change that anymore... we'll see how it works

30 mins indoor cycling (mountain stage with up to 300 watts)

strengthening routine that consisted of all those exercises that I didn't do yesterday and some that I only discovered today... focus was on arms, abs, chest and back

at the end of the training I realized that I am making some progress... exercises that were really hard for me have now become fairly easy (climbing wall) or I could do them with more weights... nice to see that the hard work is starting to pay off

I realized that my previous gym sessions focused merely on strength and somehow neglected cardio exercises... so this week I am planning on doing more cardio stuff - starting today :)

25 mins warm-up on a cross trainer

shortened strengthening routine (arms, abs, balancing)

30 mins indoor cycling (mountain stage with varying resistance)

20 mins warmup cycling

strengthening routine to train arms, legs, abs, back

15 mins cycling... simulated a mountain stage and thus faced steep climbs, even steeper climbs and unbelievably steep climbs :) haha... no, seriously, watts varied from 40 to 260

the best part of this week's practice was probably the goal I scored during our warm-up hockey game... other than that I didn't feel that great, being slowed down by slow legs and hardly any feeling for the ball... things improved towards the end of the session and we played 3 good sets of fistball, two of which we won quite easily... the third set, however, showed us that we still need to work on getting to those freaking stops

conconi test - end pace 16.0 km/h... felt okay, even though I wasn't in the best of shapes... but I'm looking forward to the results, hope to get some significant hints as to how to make my training more efficient

Indoor training

Business as usual... unfortunately I didn`t score in the pre-training hockey match but it was still a lot of fun... for the first time this year I felt that my training in the gym pays off so that I don`t get tired that quickly... yes!

45 mins of running on a treadmill... I found out how to get the mill to simulate cross country runs so I virtually did a 7.5 km run (100 m climb) through the hills of Styria... started out too slowly as I didn't know how hard it would get... but when I noticed that I am still in a nice running shape, I increased the speed towards the end

45 mins of reduced strengthening routine... mainly arms, abs, and back

on a side note: tuesday afternoon (4.30 - 6.00 p.m.) seems to be some kind of insider tip for the gym... besides me there were only about 7 or 8 people present

monday morning gym session with klaus

15 mins running as a warmup, followed by my usual routine consisting of arms, legs, abs, back... 10 mins of rowing at the end to make sure I'll be sore tomorrow... overall great workout!

it seems as if I have found some exercises that work for me by now... today I did 25 mins of cycling, followed by some strengthening and balancing... I also tried the rowing machine which really proved that I am still right at the beginning (8 mins of rowing almost killed me)
