Fistball 1:30:00 [3]

first outdoor training of the year

10 mins warm-up (pretty intense, but nice job by klaus to get everybody in shape for the championships)
30 mins of ball drills, mainly easier ones to get used to the conditions... the pitch was in a pretty bad shape, quite soggy and wet so you couldn't really tell how the ball would bounce off --> had some pretty bad moments that made me look stupid even though the pitch was to blame and not me
45 mins of playing time... made some progress, but there's still quite some room for improvements... but i'm definitely looking forward to the next training session on friday

Other (football) 20:00 [3]

throwing some balls to make sure we're gonna be sore tomorrow... no NFL-worthy performances, except for two successive goalpost-hits from about 10 yards away... PICK ME!

Running 32:54 [3] 6.35 km (5:11 / km)

despite my aching legs i let klaus talk me into an easy run to au... first half went kinda smooth as i really enjoyed running with a partner for a change... however, my right lower leg started to hurt constantly, so we had to call it quits at sebinger brücke... will definitely need to rest tomorrow

Running 53:23 [3] 10.4 km (5:08 / km)

running to feuerwehr on a completely new course: Gurhof - Pem - Lerchenweg - Kindergartenstraße - Hinterberg - Friedhof Richtung Ried - Marbach - Schloss Marbach - Kreuzmühle - Feuerwehr

given the mountainous track and the nasty headwinds, I had to work a lot in order to get there in time... speed was okay, but it took me quite some time to regenerate after hinterberg... that made me a bit passive on the downhill stages, to put it nicely

my chip had it measured ad 10.4 km... i dunno, might have been a bit shorter, with all the uphill and downhill running... but i'll just take it as it is

Running 11:29 [3] 2.5 km (4:36 / km)

running back home from feuerwehr, pushing very hard... didn't think that I could keep my initial pace, but surprisingly made it back home without slowing down... great run, and a great result, seeing that I had already done an intense run before

Running 48:33 [3] 9.7 km (5:00 / km)

unfortunately, I had to skip fistball today... fortunately, I was able to squeeze in a nice little run on my favourite course to Au... was glad to see that the 2 fast running sessions with Erich already paid off... this was my fastest time on this course this season and, as I believe, mz second fastest ever... it's a great feeling to be back in shape again :)

Running 49:00 [3]

1) deja vu run... same run like this thursday, same distance, same running partner, but greater speed... unfortunately, I was still tired so we had to stop earlier today

6.74 km in 34:39, that's 5:08 per kilometer

2) slow cool down run... we took a little break and then slowly started to run again at a slower pace

2.54 km in 14:32, that's 5:43 per kilometer

Thursday Mar 18, 2010 #

Running 50:38 [3] 9.5 km (5:20 / km)

run with Erich to Au and back... funny enough, my legs felt more tired going into the run than after it... I think I slowed Erich down a notch, but this was as fast as I could go today...

anyway, I also tried my Nike+ chip and am quite happy about the accuracy of that thing... Google Earth was telling me that the run was about 9.5 kilometers, the chip had it at 9.8... don't really know which of the two is more trustworthy (though I'm guessing it's Google)... but anyway, as they are pretty close together, I'm not gonna be fussy over it

Fistball 2:00:00 [3]

indoor training - pee wee and grown ups

don't wanna lose too many words, cause we really sucked this time around... a couple of key players missed out on practice and the others lacked motivation (which is, too some degree, understandable after the long indoor season)... but we did win 2 out of 3 sets (had a chance to win all 3), one of which featured me as our power forward :)

Gym 1:00:00 [3]

10 mins warmup

42 mins treadmill running @ 5:40 mins/km... i know that sounds rather slow, but the average was kept up by the couple of minutes that i spent running at a very low pace in order to get acquainted with the old treadmill again...

5 mins cool down

Fistball 1:30:00 [3]

indoor training

warmup football game turned into a natural disaster... following that, we focused on spiking the ball, something i had not done in quite a while... finally 4 sets of playing time
