Mountain Biking 2:00:00 [3] 22.0 km (5:27 / km) +810m 4:36 / km

since yesterday's mountainbike session was so nice, I decided to go for it again and so stick it to Gaissi on back-to-back days (take that!)... after doing the aigen climb yesterday, I tried the Glasenbach one today and LOVED it... it gives you a nice offroad feeling and it's beautiful to bike right by the glasenbach... going down I chose that route again and tried to push as hard as I could, thus covering myself in a ton of dirt... great outing, though

Mountain Biking 2:00:00 [3] 20.0 km (6:00 / km) +810m 4:59 / km

After last week's snowfalls I was anxious to go up the Gaisberg as soon as possible and today gave me the perfect opportunity for this... down in Salzburg the weather was just gorgeous: sunny, almost no wind and a whopping 17 degrees... up on the summit, however, there were still 10 cm of snow left and the temperatures were barely above freezing... so no matter what outfit you chose, you were always dressed wrong... I had opted for my long cycling pants, meaning that I sweated quite a bit on the early stages but was able to push once I got to the colder parts...
anyway, overall it was a nice effort and a beautiful bike ride in the sun

Mountain Biking 1:45:00 [3] 20.0 km (5:15 / km) +860m 4:19 / km

Gaisberg via Aigen
didn't expect much of today's session seeing that my season opener was not exactly impressive... but I started out fine and got into a good rhythm early on... what also helped was the fact that 2 other mountain bikers were chasing me (one of them being a woman and macho-me hates losing to female bikers)
long story short - I had to push quite a bit to avoid being overtaken but that resulted in a fairly good gaisberg climb... I overtook 9 other cyclists while just 3 overtook me (and none of them was a girl *winning*)... don't have an exact climb time but I guess it'd be somewhere in the 1:05-1:10 range

Mountain Biking 2:00:00 [3] 22.0 km (5:27 / km) +810m 4:36 / km

season opener at the gaisberg... since the weather has been nice for weeks I thought the gaisberg might have thawed enough for me to not freeze my legs off... it was indeed alright, even though there's still some snow at the top and it gets cold fast once the sun has set

my biking shape is nothing special, which does not come as a surprise seeing my recent illness and general inactivity... but I made it all the way to the top without having to turn to mariahilf for help... sure enough, I was lacking the ability to push for a better time but I'd say I did okay for this year's first bike ride
