New SB for Gnigl run!!

all the training's done, I'm ready to go!
This has been my last run before the race on Sunday... tried to push hard and kept reminding myself that a good time can only be achieved by running fast... and run fast I did :)
I gotta admit I am a little bit concerned about the weather report for Sunday... highs are supposed to reach 35 °C that day so it's gonna be a huge struggle even in the morning... hope I'll find the right mix of pushing and cruising on Sunday

my initial plan was to bike from Salzburg to Hallein and then make my way to Bad Dürrnberg - Rossfeld - Kehlsteinhaus and back via Oberau... started out slowly and got into a good rhythm so the first part was not really a challenge anymore... it did get challenging though once I had discovered the trail leading to Kehlsteinhaus - it was quite steep and all gravel...as I am not great on gravel and didn't wanna kill myself in a race week, I called it quits before I had reached my intended destination
still, today's bike ride makes me feel good about my plans to conquer the Großglockner soon

After Sunday's disaster, I reminded myself that training cannot always be fun... sometimes you just have to be hard on yourself and push as much as you can... that's what I tried to do today and I feel like I made a step in the right direction

Trial run around Fuschlsee... gotta admit that this run had me thinking - it felt good and fast all the way but when I got back and saw my time I was really disappointed... I mean, I know I'm not in such a great shape this year but 1:08 is more than 7 mins slower than my pb... dunno what to do now since there's only 1 week left :-(

While this must have been the ugliest run in the history of mankind, I am surprised that the speed was still okay... as usual, I didn't bring a watch to my run so I had no idea how fast I was going... all I knew that I felt like shit... well, needless to say I was in for a little surprise upon my return

first day of Rohrbach tournament... felt good and had a couple of nice plays (of course there were a few bad ones as well, but all in all I was happy with what I did)... we won all games but one, which put us in a good place for tomorrow

nice bike ride up roßfeld höhenringstraße and back via unterau... felt good all the way and could have gone on biking when I had reached the summit... makes me feel confident about my plans to conquer Großglockner in a couple of weeks

Today's plan was to go back to the run I did on Wednesday and try to beat the time by as much as possible... all in all, I could improve my time by 3 mins, which sounds nice even though my impatient self would have hoped for even greater improvements...

do you know these runs when you get 'in the flow' and everything happens just naturally? well, today's run was not one of these...
I had planned to run in the early morning when the sun does not beat down on you... but I got sidetracked in my preparations and started out too late... that and my plan to try to push or good speed today really made this run a mess... had to fight hard to make it back but am happy with the time

felt okay on the flat parts but struggled quite a bit on the climbs... time is just a guess as I don't bring a stopwatch to my runs

bike ride up Trattberg from Vigaun and back via Kuchl... we had perfect cycling weather - sunny and a light breeze - which made this tour even more enjoyable... so I had a lot of fun and was proud of myself to be able to finish even though this was literally only my second tour of the year... will need to work on my stamina, though, if I really wann do the Großglockner in a few weeks

bike tour to Laufen and back with Lisa... nothing too strenuous but just some slow cycling, which was ideal for me to recover from running the past two days
