So I decided to give Strava another shot and this time it worked beautifully... took it out on a run to Traklsteg and back via Mönchsberg to test my legs on some climbs...
I chose this run because I knew that there was a Strava race going on in which everybody was ranked who ran from Pioniersteg to Traklsteg (which is exactly 1k)... and since this is quite a busy part of the city (for runners, that is) there were already 144 entries in that ranking and I wanted to see where I would come in
so off I went with a nice 5k warm-up run to Pioniersteg from where I went into suicide pace for the 1k to Traklsteg... I paid the price for that since it wore me out completely and I never really recovered from running too fast... had to fight my way back and even had to make a 5 minute break at Mönchsberg to get the heart rate down... so this is definitely something I will have to work on in the future
anyway, back at home I checked my Strava and I am quite happy with the result: I am in 21st place out of 145 runners, which is not too bad... bummer was that there was a fast guy (probably a tourist who brought his running gear) doing the same Strava race earlier today, so I didn't even get to score the fastest time of the day... damn tourists;-)
