Night O at beacon country park, very brambly, but easy going (once you had got free of the brambles) and very simple navigation.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [1] 3.0 km (6:40 / km)

Tried warming up for longer this week, seemd to work as I only had trouble with shin splints for the first 10 mins or so, I will increase next times warm up so i won't have any trouble.

Orienteering race 1:15:20 [4] * 15.48 km (4:52 / km) +68m 4:46 / km

Longridge SROC Street League, felt a lot better this week, but was still slower than possible at the start, set off thinking although the planner thought it was possible to get them all, it wasn't, so missed some out of the way ones at the start, then towards the end I realised I was just about right for time, so without being slow in the first 10-15 mins I could have possibly got them all. In the end I was thrid, behind Steve (1900) and Quentin (1810) with me at 1750.

Cycled out to Windgather via Pott Shrigley to go climbing, then back past Whaley bridge and Disley. Didn't bother logging 2 sessions, there is actually a 3hr ish gap in the middle.

Cycling 1:00:00 [1] 21.0 km (2:51 / km)

Cycled out to Bruntwood park to check control sites and map for next week, managed about half of the park on my bike but got fed up with the slimy mud so did the rest on foot.

Woodbank Park night event, won the blue, which is suprising as I didn't feel as if I was moving very fast and managed to run straight past no. 7

Orienteering race 1:13:00 [3] * 13.0 km (5:37 / km)

Street League, Chorley, I was still feeling tired after the weekend, and for the first half was limited by shin splints, then my thigh started playing up and I ended up jogging the last third or so because I had run out of extra loops that were worth the risk. Another low scoring night for me.

Running long 3:10:00 [3] 23.0 km (8:16 / km) +350m 7:41 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talons

Got the train up to Edale and ran with Lewis around Kinder, started up Ringing Roger, all the way round the far side, then down Kinderlow via Jacobs ladder and back along the road.

Running 1:10:00 [3] 11.9 km (5:53 / km) +80m 5:41 / km

Nobody fancied sliding around in the mud on the inclines, so we went on a road route. Up to High lane, across to Hawk green, cut through past Marple college to the Middlewood way, along there to the station, then down Dan Bank and along Offerton road back to the A6.

Orienteering race 43:13 [4] ** 7.5 km (5:46 / km) +100m 5:24 / km
shoes: Inov -8 O-Rocs

New Year Cracker at Low Park Wood, got the strategy wrong and didn't spot the changeover point until I had got past the point where it was still possible to correct. Distance and climb are guesses for now until I measure it properly. Still came 3rd, ahead of people who got the strategy right, although I was 8 mins down on Duncan Archer, and 2 down on Mike, where as i should have been much closer to Duncan Archer.
