Took Phatty's inlines to Sunnybrook Park - little less of a gong show this time, but kids were definitely laughing at me. I can't blame them, I would have laughed at me too - tall gawky guy on blades much too advanced for his skill level (or lack thereof) with helmet, poles, and every form of protection imaginable. Managed to at least get some semblance of a rhythm going, but pretty much just wanted to dump the skates and take off on a trail run (same sensation I usually get when I try x-c skiing...)
