Cycled into town (first ever successful on-bike crossing of magdalen roundabout) with the intention of doing Boars Hill route, but got halfway round chch meadow and realised legs weren't having any of it. Rest day time.

Running tempo 52:00 [4] 7.0 mi (7:26 / mi)

Can't go to HRR this eve as have a careers event. So did my tempo in the simplest and easiest way possible: the treadmill. Set the pace to 7.30 min/mile and then ran for 7 miles. It helped that all the info on the screen was very detailed. Had pace, distance, heart rate (average 177, highest 187)
Felt super comfortable, so upped the pace in the last 2 miles. By the last half a mile was running at 6:45 min/mile. Really happy with that!
Running on a treadmill is obvs excruciatingly tedious BUT very good for keeping a consistent pace and eliminating all the things that can go wrong on a run outside, like traffic lights and wind and mud. Will be using it more often as the weather gets colder.

Running warm up/down 25:00 [3] 2.4 mi (10:25 / mi)

Running tempo 12:00 [4]

Running intervals 12:00 [5]

Couldn't sleep at all last night so in a massive grump all day. Didn't feel like going running at all but so glad I did - ofc it cheered me up loads.
Intervals with HRR. 12 min tempo (half-marathon pace), then 3 x 2 min (5k pace, with squats/lunges in recovery), then 6 x 15s hill sprints, then 10 x 10 sec flat sprints. Bit of a weird session with lots of chopping and changing and weaving in and out of cars/lamposts on residential streets, but good nonetheless. Felt really speedy but then I always do when running at night. Really enjoying the running club vibes - love a good self-congratulatory round of applause at the end.

Spinning 45:00 [5]

Baptism of fire. Struggled big time but overall really enjoyed. Will def be going again.

Running 1:30:25 [2] 8.5 mi (10:38 / mi) +300m 9:35 / mi

Back home for the weekend for some TLC. Got a lift to East Ashling (Milly's horse show) and from there up Kingley Vale, across the valley to West Dean, and back along to Lavant. Generally lacking in energy and often stopping to walk. Didn't help that I didn't know the route so had to keep checking the map.
Comeuppance from Friday night's silliness - getting too old for these shenanigans.
