Running race (Parkrun) 19:39 [5] 3.1 mi (6:20 / mi)

An all-tarmac, super speedy, out-and-back Worthing parkrun to replace a flooded Chichester. Had a conservative first half owing partly to the headwind, then flew back after the turn. Was locked in a thrilling race which spurred me on to go a lot faster than I could have on my own. Loved. It.

Back to chi for some easy miles along the canal, with 4 x 2 mins (1) pick-ups at 6:30’/mile and 4 x 30s (30s) at 5:30’/mile.

Up early trying to squeeze intervals in before 12hr shift. Legs and heart not in it - half way round the first felt faint and uncoordinated - so gave up and just jogged up to the roundabout and back. Not too worried - will be able to give more at parkrun now.

Aborted intervals. Stomach ache which got progressively worse as I was warming up.

Disgusting weather. Longed for treadmill. 50% off-road - couldn't handle any more mud than that.

Major slump in motivation today. Feeling exhausted. Appalling weather too. Had a stitch on and off and lower back tightened up towards the end, but otherwise ok. Significant headwind on way back.

Bit early. Bit rainy. But got it done. Legs so doms-y I could hardly manage more than a shuffle. But only a minute slower than last week. Same route: blissful binsted lanes.
