Friday Feb 2 #

Running 41:30 [3] 5.0 mi (8:18 / mi)

Cold definitely on the way out but legs feeling terrible. Easy 4 miles then a few pick-ups (12321 mins with 1 recovery) and 3 x 20s strides to finish. Trying to sharpen the legs up before race on Sunday but at the moment they ain't feeling it.

Thursday Feb 1 #

Running 1:35:00 [2] 10.5 mi (9:03 / mi) +200m 8:33 / mi
slept:8.0 (sick)

Feeling a bit worse today so kept it really really easy. Off-road so the usual mud fest.

Wednesday Jan 31 #

Running warm up/down 26:27 [2] 3.0 mi (8:49 / mi)

Running tempo 47:28 [4] 7.0 mi (6:47 / mi)
slept:9.0 (sick)

On a mission to get threshold pace down to 6:30. Some way off, but still not feeling great so to be expected. Experimented a bit with different breathing patterns and ended up with a potpourri of stitches.

Tuesday Jan 30 #

Note
slept:6.5 (sick)

Still under the weather, but improved from yesterday. Stressful day out the way so might be able to catch up on sleep tonight. Will shift this week's training back a day.

Strength and Conditioning 40:00 [1]

Chilled core and glutes. No raising HR.

Monday Jan 29 #

Note
slept:6.5 (sick)

Sudden onset of cold. Feeling grim.

Sunday Jan 28 #

Running 1:59:21 [3] 16.0 mi (7:28 / mi) +100m 7:19 / mi
shoes: New Balance fresh foam boracay

2 little summersdale laps, 2 big ones (inc. north st, south st), then one lap of city centre. Had to stop to stretch twice but otherwise felt good. Fatigue hit in the final 2 miles but determined to go under 2 hours. Feel a bit beaten up now though - a lot of road for one day.
