Scottish 6 Days - Day 5 Glen Fearder - M21E

Getting there, after a chat to Andrew B's mum, I took some paracetamol and knee felt much more manageable. Was almost able to race normally again, just still feeling a bit unfit from the big break, but not as bad as Tuesday. Running style still feels a bit wonky but was happy to be able to descend down any hills painlessly today.

Lost about 90s, with 60s of that running past an almost certainly slightly out of place number 5 without checking the code because I was so sure, not blaming anyone in particular though! Caught up El Purko who gave a nice bit of pressure from behind to finish quickly and reel in a nice third place - could have been even better but I'll take that for where I am now, even with a fresher pair of legs to everyone else after wimping out yesterday. Anyway, might even finish the whole race tomorrow after today's result.

Scottish 6 Days - Day 4 Creag Choinnich - M21E
Started off promising but knee gave up half way to two and I had to bail. Gave GG some time to get away before I cut down to 4 so was surprised to see him exiting 5, turns out he'd had a bit of a mare! Found Ed at 16 and paced him to 17 before slightly savagely dropping him with his tired pair of legs and cruised into the finish just as spongey found me. WOuld have been nice to complete the course with a good pair of legs but not today. Tempted to train on the new bit of map soon, looks awesome!

A good performance for the first half, just didn't have the legs or lungs to keep a good pace. Caught Ben M and started to fanny about getting distracted. Things became even worse when we came down the hill and my knee didn't feel very strong anymore and I lost time from not checking the map enough. Kept off Tristan and Loic coming into the finish but felt a bit defeated. Nice to be racing like this on home terrain though!
