Saturday Mar 8

orienteering 1:15:00 [3]6.3 km (11:54 / km)
Ran first day green Y USOC, again began partway thru course & then cont'd when I got to start triangle. Did not like #1 (seemed more green than mapped & I w/o leaves) , area was easy to find but could not distinguish any singular green. Less rain but still a double-header of a wet experience.

After, on to Berry Hill Farm, Brandy Station; Orange (Woodberry Forest/Bill Boyd's grave search) & Montpelier (James & Dolly Madison) then to BWI for 8:35 flt to Mch w/ lovely view of lit-up NYC.

Friday Mar 7

orienteering 1:38:00 [2]8.5 km (11:32 / km)
at PW F w/ Beth, green Y, day 2 USOC from last Nov. Rain began just as I began. Easier of the 2 days, started partway thru course due to closed road. 68' &jogged/walked about 30' (2.5K) from finish to start triangle. Very wet, fairly chilly by return to car. Not much in way of mistakes, a bit hard to see, rain uninspiring. #13, bridge, was evidentally day-only which fooled me for awhile & crossed on rock bridge, off 60m on other side....

Bk to Best Value, warm, dry; tired from poor sleep/flt. Dinner @ Globe & Laurel, Beth recalled our being there before, I recalled once inside seeing all the MC mementos.

Thursday Mar 6

Tuesday Mar 4

trail/woods running 40:02 [3]4.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
at noon before rain, sluggish from weekend.
weights 20:00 [1]
gym on way home

Sunday Mar 2

orienteering race (ski) 7:20:00 [3]28 km (15:43 / km)
Day 2 Snowgaine, sunny, above 30 deg, lovely. Worked out kinks in body. Still more things to negotiate in creative fasion. Lots of bumps, one particularly sloppy stream crossing w/ temporary loss of map. Finished at 1620, was bk at Harris for shower & away at 1708...402 mi home (5hrs 37min) by 2245 via mass Pike. Went via Keene, Brattleboro, Bennington, Troy, 325 mi, 5hrs 38min. Was a winter storm at home (10") but made it all the way there w/o much snowfall at all. Great experience, not sure about a next time. Was oldest there, ARs were under 40, maybe 30 competitors total. Funniest sight of weekend was 2 mt bike competitors (must take bike to control) pedalling with snowshoes on & disappearing over 6 foot plus snowbank into deep, snowy woods, a puzzle as to how they did what they did.
