Walking 50:00 [1] 1.5 mi (33:20 / mi)

To Great Hill summit with Beth & Mocha to see the "Supermoon" rise which it did right at 4:59. Was orange and big but not as big as I expected. There was a clear band and, after about 35', it was behind cloud. We sat on the bench & chatted with Bob D who was out leaf blowing trails. Walked back down with some natural light & some flashlight. A very mild day.

A date for mitral valve repair, Jan 24. Had I been quicker to decide, it could have been Dec 19.

Orienteering 1:20:52 [1] 2.24 mi (36:06 / mi) +152m 29:49 / mi

At Bear Brook - actually went orienteering today (O trumps walking). Mid-50s. Had some handwritten course from last BD. Walking, pretty accurate as would be expected. Still, some small knolls and rocky areas that befuddled a bit.

Parts of BB remind me of the Virginia meets we used to go to in November. Brown, rock-free terrain with attention to contour being the main mode of navigation.

Don't see how to display recorded splits for the time being - they don't show up when I choose that option.

Walking 1:00:00 [1] 1.5 mi (40:00 / mi)

More so-called "training" which will have to do for now. We (Beth, Mocha and grandkids) walked to Nottingcook's Great Hill summit which indeed has great views after the selective logging last summer. Yesterday's wind dropped a non-selected tree right on top of a "view bench".

Got a missed call from Cleveland Clinic yesterday. Looking forward to getting a leaky heart valve repaired and removing the quotes from the word "training" above. And O competition as a resurrected prospect.

Walking 30:00 [1] 1.0 mi (30:00 / mi)

With Mocha in Nottingcook - parked in front of the Arena. Got Snow hunting these days - still there, 10 years later. It was surprisingly warm. I was overdressed. Brown, bare, beautiful landscape. Took the old road up to the more southern exit - softwoods have grown high and weeds have nearly closed off and hidden parts of the road.

Walking 1:31:59 [1] 2.61 mi (35:15 / mi) +77m 32:17 / mi

To Kimball Pond with Beth & Mocha. Turned very windy as afternoon progressed. Pleased to see how M held up and also crossed the damn like a trooper.

Walking 51:25 [1] 1.98 mi (25:58 / mi) +84m 22:56 / mi

Walk around White Park area - did not use last winter for skiing. Bare grass and corn field is very different. There was some kind of white powder on grass & field that led me to get off it - who knows. Did not turn the 310 off as I left parking. This was the first time I used the watch since 10/19. Gpx file transferred this time. I was ready to consult the AP thread but the issue self-cured.

Walking 40:00 [1] 2.0 mi (20:00 / mi)

Two miles at BHS, the second one on the track. Warm & sunny. Stopped by Turee to check reflections etc. A good day for a kayak paddle but couldn't fit it in. Big day, too, in that it was Election Day.
