Birthday day with no plan and yesterday decided it should have one so we went to Boston, mostly the Aquarium, full of kids in the morning, quieter in the afternoon. Liked the seahorses and
the octopus, mostly for their bizarre qualities viewed up close. Went to Quincy Mkt and Fanueil Hall after, seeing the Great Hall, site of many a famous oration, for the first time (after 35 plus years of downtown Boston). So mild, spring for sure, down there anyway.
I see this was the Snowgaine weekend. I recall doing three: one with virtually no snow & not using skis (w/ David Levine), one in a blizzard with a novice AR "youngster" and one with decent snow, and a good challenge (w/ Charlie Leonard). Always fun and a bear of a drive. Forgot ski boots once. The last one, north of Syracuse, was 400+ miles back to NH. One stop at a gas station maybe 30 miles along the way and then nonstop home. No appeal re driving such distance these days, at least in winter conditions/months which often are a game of roulette. But thanks to Eric Smith for those events - fun memories.
