Orienteering 1:40:15 [1] 3.11 mi (32:14 / mi) +43m 30:54 / mi
Had planned on Ahern and when I went to the UNO web site for directions, learned it had been yesterday. Oh well - used to meets being on Sundays and still not oriented around home. Went to Pawtuckaway for a substitute.
Many, many cars waiting to get in (beach closed when I left around 1:15, presumably due to a crowd). There was the logging which I had not seen. That always distresses/depresses, me anyway - large swaths of former forest, now bare ground baking in the sun. Had considered the island but opted for more complex terrain.
At one point in time, I, for the life of me, could not figure out where I was. The map, contours (under canopy) and blue features (veg changes), were mediocre there. I spent a good deal of time walking the area and convincing myself I was always about where I thought I was. The water features had quite a bit of unmapped vegetation over them. Lots of mosquitoes. Had repellent but they were pretty determined.
One nice thing about O in June in NH woods is the getting out of the woods, maybe getting a dip or, at least, speeding away in a convertible. Glad to have gone - nothing ventured...

From the 310 via Garmin Connect for review as to how to use (with negligible time & distance). I much prefer Strava's upload ease but can't run around with a cell phone, take splits etc. Tried the HRM but still can't make it fall in place. It is enabled on the 310 and the HRM battery was replaced but still a puzzle.
2.52 mi, 1:36:16 time vs the 3.11, another puzzle.
