Weightexercise workout 50:00 [2]

Y after work. Yesterday's snow turned to freezing rain which made for a commuter mess, mostly in the afternoon. I was shoveling crust on snow this morning. I didn't have time or energy to find out if the post-precipitation outcome was of use for nordic this afternoon. Needed to get home to organize for some nine hours in a car tomorrow...when I last was driving for that long in a day is lost in mists of time.

Weightexercise workout 45:00 [1]

Weights & cardio at Y after work. Y is currently an after work default.

Note

Went to BHS around 6p to see what might be available with 4" fresh snow. Nothing, no grooming or tracks. Stood for awhile fussing with poles, gloves/straps which allowed snow to stick. Then hard to get off. Anyway good to get out for fresh air. Had been in house most of day with surprise visit from grandkids etc. Usual pair of boots had a stuck zipper, too, probably some salt from last spring. Working out kinks best describes the outing.

Weightexercise workout 40:00 [1]

At Y around 5pm, pleasantly quiet. Snow today, maybe 3" by dark.

Yesterday marked two endings: the first a colleague, 60, retiring after 32 yrs at NHH. I'd worked with him since '04. A noon hour party, turn in keys and pager at 2p and away into the future. Tho I expect to see him from time to time. The second was the completion of a house project that stretched out to two months. It involved removal of a 40 y/o passive solar system. "Harvested" were 16 sheets of 4 by 8' sheet glass. Today a young man drove from the Worcester area to pick up 8 of them. Tomorrow another from Concord is coming by for the other 8. At $10/sheet, a real deal for that particular person in need of such. I'm pleased to see the driveway mess slowly disappear. Still remaining are a 35 foot dumpster and a porta-potti. Three mini-split heaters were added and where there were formerly two walls, now there are 4 windows letting the outside in.

Walking 35:00 [1] 1.0 mi (35:00 / mi)

Contemplative walk at BHS at dusk. There was a group of some 35 on the infield, and still there when I returned to the car after dark. Wondered what they might represent, possibly the hockey team.
