Along the Merrimack - have been here once or twice before. River's good but not the RR tracks/coarse gravel kind of footing. No kayak possibilities nearby.

Walking (Uncanoonuc) 35:10 [1] 1.03 mi (34:14 / mi) +45m 30:08 / mi

After a haircut, went there with W. I was here last November for the first time. Had the garden in mind today but learned it was "Private, by appointment only", then the reservoirs which were behind a gate so walked some of what I did last fall. It was pretty hot and buggy. No interest for a North Uncanoonuc summit, hard work in buggy green. They are pretty surprising hills.

Biking 1:25:56 [2] 7.41 mi (11:35 / mi) +268m 10:25 / mi

On Beth's bike, same bike/same route as a year ago. Walked a bit on the hills. I'd guess I've been 3-4 times on a bike in the past 5+ years. This morn, tire inflation solution and secure fastening of the bike rack to the back of the car predominated as the morning was aging. The BBSP camping area is always appealing - then thru the Americorps area and, finally, return on old friend Podunk Road...paved to coarse gravel to decent dirt and finally pavement again (with no flat tire solution). Saw very few people but lots of vehicles at the campground and on the Americorps stretch. Cool with some breeze for the most part.

Walking 11:54 [1] 0.3 mi (39:15 / mi) +1m 38:51 / mi

Late afternoon Willow appeasement. We stayed in the shade - she eventually settled down by the car which was perfect. T mid 80s if in direct sun.

Walking 36:14 [1] 1.29 mi (28:07 / mi) +15m 27:08 / mi

To the same old slough but upstream considerably. Where the road crosses, it was bone dry whereas the past three or so times, it was generally too deep to care to pass. And a swamp/jungle/downed trees on the north side. A notably hot day, cool enough in the woods though.
