Walking (Knox parking home) 1:58:22 [1] 4.47 mi (26:31 / mi) +177m 23:36 / mi

Along Robertson, Bear, Robertson, Single Circuit, a snow mobile trail to Branch Londonderry Tkpe/Robinson Rd extension and finally thru the woods. A prime June day - sunny, breezy, cool, minimal bugs. Saw again what I like to ID as Bow's biggest tree and the old mill dam near the end of Arnold on the Chadwick easement boundary.

With Ron K & W - walked the perimeter, Ron painting fresh blazes. 2 and a quarter hours nonstop talking about forests/forestry, old fields & finds, saw mill ruins, conservation interests, timber sales, White Mountains, some Alaska, even a bit of firefighting.

Walking (Everett Arena) 17:43 [1] 0.44 mi (40:06 / mi) +1m 39:49 / mi

DP etc by the river. A good place to launch a kayak for "city views" although I happened upon a homeless fellow bathing on the very substantial dock.

Soccer mom's photo for the day.

Walking (Bear Brook SP) 2:03:56 [1] 3.83 mi (32:24 / mi) +177m 28:20 / mi

Bear Brook, couldn’t decide whether to start at Podunk parking, Hayes Field or even at Bear Hill Pond. Opted for the closest and least used starting place, at the entrance gate across from the beach area. Fine day, still early, cool. Walked the length of One Mile Road then on Sentinel Pine Trail to Catamount and down to Cascade Trail and along it back to One Mile Rd. Finally, along Lower Bear Brook trail crossing Bear Brook itself, then along the road and thru the beach area. The Cascade trail was the prettiest place I believe I’ve seen at BB - had not seen it before. Also the Lower Bear Brook Trail was a pleasant surprise. All in all, “can’t beat it” which is what a mountain biker saiid as he passed on One Mile Road. Saw one couple with a dog not 100m into the walk - otherwise no one. Map is NEOC 1975 which I used at a meet on 9/25/77.

Really backed up (maybe a half mile) commuter traffic in Hooksett this morn - some of it likely due to a paving project unfolding. It certainly was a delay (15+’) across the river coming back.

Photos 1 & 2.

Walking (Mast Yard SF) 14:39 [1] 0.39 mi (37:29 / mi) +11m 34:28 / mi

Mistook Mastyard SF parking for Broad Cove parking...
Nice time to be out - T mid-60s, sunshine filtering thru green leaves, light breeze, no bugs. Impossibly gloomy this morning with considerable rain.

Walking (Broad Cove) 25:05 [0] 0.72 mi (34:48 / mi) +42m 29:28 / mi

Looking at an occasional kayak haulout from yesteryear. Decided Broad Cove elevation change to the trail is too much for us now w tandem kayak so onto Contoocook Canoe C. river access.
