Mandurah Half Ironman
Pretty nervous leading up to the event not sure if I was going to be able to finish/run off the bike. During training coming off the bike I was exhausted both times from the 90km practice.

Swim
-This was crazy fast as it was essentially a downhill swim following the current. Lucky for me since I haven't done much swim training other than every couple of weeks when I've been at the island.

Bike
-Really enjoyed the bike section, was riding with one guy pretty much the whole way with each taking the lead several times over the 90km. Averaged about 32km/hr, 4km/hr faster than what I had expected. Gelled up every 20minutes to hopefully have energy for the run afterwards!

Run
-Ice sprayed my foot straight away, packed gels and off for the run. First 1km felt fantastic, under 6min k, feeling comfortable, lots of spectators. Then the reality set in, which was really bad foot pain and tired legs. Key was to keep running, walking only in the aid stations and one other time when something weird was going on with my shoe. Pain started to disappear heading towards the final turnaround on the run, and I started to run really freely and with the motivation of the finish line kept pushing hard to get a 2:15 half marathon!

Finishing was glorious and well worth it considering I'd thought of giving up training and competing in the event more than a few times for various different reasons!
