run hills 50:00 [5]

Hotel treadmill run high above Super Bowl way. 3 minutes x 10. Starting at 9% increasing by .3 or .4 % each time! to end at 12%. Was feeling good so kicked it up to 15% for an additional minute at the end. 6mph the whole way with 1 minute between hills.

Sunday run. Debated whether to take Trix what it being so cold and all, but after throwing two coats on her and spending 45 minutes putting all of my layers on, nolo problemo. I actually counted items of individual pieces of clothing and came to 22.

Ran the braids and encountered Turdo and friend so ran for a pleasant half hour with them. By then Trix was looking a little tired of it all and so T graciously agreed to take her home up Artaban while I continued on around the Standard Route.

Super sweet run with Hammer and Trix. These are conditions that are hard not to love. A little treachery left out on the trails, but I had cleverly worked it out to have H run ahead and take all the nasty falls.

9 x 1 minute all out runs on the curve treadmill. Turns out the real world slope equivalent is 9%. That explains why 9 mph was so hard. No TNT for me this eve. Too cold for Trix. Er. And me.

Solo Smt. Just me and Trix and the insanely dangerous Dundas Valley trails. Fortunately, I had my geeky Swedish orienteering spikes. Trix, however had just had her nails clipped.. Something that she hadn't counted on, but which neutralized a bit her low centre of gravity and four wheel drive. It was also very funny.

Workout cut a bit short because of a missed jump on the step machine that caused a pretty spectacular crash. More noise and fury than anything else. No lasting damage, but enough of a blow to cause me to say, hey, enough for today.

Trix and I worked it out. She wouldn't go to TNT if I didn't go to TNT. Deal. So then what? Indoor spin! How weird is that? And with Balogna! So I did my patented 10 by 30 second flail and put a big fat checkmark into the I worked out today box. Nuff said.

Soft snow, a good trail and a happy dog. The makings of a perfect Sunday morning run. Took my trusty saw along and did some forestry while out there. Turbo, didn't quite get it all, but at least you can walk over the big logs now.

Perfect day out in the deeve. Good run around the regular route. Started with a close fox encounter. Little bugger was off leash. I hate it when rules are broken. It leads to mob behavior. To illustrate, Turbo and I immediately released Trix and Greta. See? Chaos now reigns in the valley. Hide your children.

Fifth annual WoH run with 60 of my closest friends, followed by 15 liters of Dutch soup and a wafflenalia. New Batter was a major contributor. Indeed, best Batter so far, but the back story is dark and mysterious. Something to do with shaolin monasteries and whip cream.
