run 5:20:00 [1]

Out with Baloney pacing Char through Day 8 of her Bruce run. She's in considerable discomfort and operating on only 3 hours of sleep per night, but is still agile enough to keep a running shuffle going through most of the trails. Baloney is staying up with her at Bent and Bash's (who is out running with Char this aft) until tomorrow. Turbo is heading up in Ruby on Rails later this evening to give Baloney a hand. She still has a shot at the record, and if she does make it she will be demonstrating a level of strength and commitment I have rarely witnessed. An outstanding group around her as well.

run 1:25:00 [3]

Flew home late from Vancouver to a tired SMT run with Dang, Turbo and the freshly healed Trix, who was up to her old Trixery.

Core 23:00 [3]

Hotel room core.

run 45:00 [3]

Stanley Park seawall run. Mainly on asphalt. That's a bit harder on the legs than I'm used to. 5 fingers on pavement makes for a very careful running form. Delicate.

run 40:00 [5]

Grouse Grind. Holy Kamoly. Forgot how tough this hill was. Tougher even, I think, than k2 hard as that is to believe. But, hey, managed to do it in just a shade under 40 minutes. Don't have the seconds, but broke 40 fersher and that was with a seriously crowded trail. The grind has only been open for a week so there's some pent up demand.

Did the climb in the 5 fingers. Not a problem at all. In fact, felt more nimble and agile than if wearing shoes. Decided not to descend. Too many people and, well, too whacked to think about doing it safely.

run 1:08:00 [5]

8 hilly trail intervals including both directions up K2. Concentrating on bombing the downhills. Figuring out how to descend scary fast (for me) in the 5 fingers.
