Cycle 1:00:00 [4]

Meant to go easy and finished a nice loop of the valley, including my first clean ascent of K2 with no foot dabs. PH: try doing that on your girly platform pedals.

Then stopped by Canterbury to see how the Mud Run was going. 16 girls missing and totally unaccounted for. SAR! I love SAR! And so I blasted off and did a loop that had me going down Artaban and then the Monarch trail and back up Lions Club at speed. Nothing.

Then, a report. Someone had spotted a group headed out toward the top of Artaban. If that's the way they went, I must have just missed them. So I headed out again, faster this time. Came across friend Ernie on Monarch. Yep. Saw them. Directed them to "the Orchard". Thanks Ernie. Except that no one other than we few insiders know what the Orchard is. I was on the hunt.

Asked another hiker as I got to the Main Loop. The girls had come this way and were headed counter clockwise but likely turned left at the Bruce Trial campsite. And indeed they had, cuz that's where I say them.

A quick 2k walk and they were back at camp. Good fun. Great stories for the girls about being so deep in the woods that they saw a real deer. I was suitably impressed.

Can't control everything, but the parts that could be controlled were all handled beautifully by PH. Nicely run event Patrick!

run 1:20:00 [3]

Best run in months and months. Knee still swollen, but not sore. Seems to be operating well. Managed Trixy tempo from the Trav tree with PH pounding right behind me just to keep it interesting.

run intervals 1:15:00 [5]

12344321. Good speed for me. Knee held up. I can live with it if this is the worst it gets.

Cycle intervals 30:00 [5]

Nasty 10-ers. These are tough, tough. Fun though. The Wire 2:4. The stage is still being set. This is one carefully wrought dramatic thread.
