Harsher. 5 and a half K2s from the bridge at the bottom. I had wanted to do full circuits, but on circuit 3 I hear the kind of barking from Trix that can only mean trouble. I follow the racket down the west side of K2 toward the brown house. Then I hear all the cackling and clucking. A full, elaborate, complete chicken coop. Full of terrified chickens and surrounded by a chuffed Trix who is barking up a storm. And then I see the owner coming out of the house with a garden rake. Uh oh. Turns out he was totally cool with the whole thing. A recent Dutch immigrant who thought his chickens were being attacked by wolves. And, they were, sort of. Leashed up the beast and headed back to the hill recognizing that the West side would be off limits for a while until the memory of this hunting triumph dissipated from Trix's little brain a tad.

Finished with a return up Groundhog high and a full whoop on Artaban. 5 weeks out from LaFuma Volcano run. Etna and Stromboli have been blowing up lately, so this could get exciting.

Smt ice road runners. Bet it stays roughly this nasty and treacherous for one more week before it'll be safe to run in the trails without bolts. Hammer definitely robbed the chief the wrong way.

Continuing with dial-it-back week only did 5 artabans after skipping yesterday completely. Still a bit heavy from trying to keep up with the big dogs on Sunday, but no issues with the hammy today, so it's all good.
