run 2:08:00 [3]

Big phat run out to headwaters and up the Wall of Voodoo just for grins. With styrofoam snow, the climb up was the easiest it's ever been. Wore Yak Trax for a change. Worked well in these conditions, but had to take them off for the last half hour because they were messing with my hammer toes. Taking the traction away makes it much more of a random adventure out there.

run 2:00:00 [3]

smt with Anvil and Turdo. There was some thought that Soup would show up, but that turned out to be one of those moments when you are confronted with the bitter truth that you can't believe anything you read on the Internet.

Much discussion about how one defines a fall. We start with the premise that we know one when we see one. But it gets tough when you try to break it down. 3 points of contact? 4? Too broad. You could just be steadying yourself. Recalibrating, as it were. Ok. all four limbs and another bit? A knee, say, or a hip. Certainly if you hit your hip that has to be a fall. Anvil proved that four times today. In any event, it gets complicated at the margins.

Gym 1:00:00 [5]

Since I missed Monday, Conor was determined to make it twice as hard today.

Note

Trails are likely to be full-on mashed potatoes tomorrow. I propose SMT be a snowshoe run. Likely the last chance to pull on the platforms this season.

run 58:00 [3]

Beautiful run around the Main Loop to recover from jet lag. Skipped K2 because it was just Trix and me and so who would ever know?

run intervals 30:00 [5]

Hotel treadmill. Decided to up the stakes a bit. Warm up for 10 minutes at 7 mph. Then set it to 3% and 10mph. 30 seconds on, jump off to the side rrails, 1 minute rest while the band spins beneath me. Times 10, but increasing the speed by .2 each interval and move the pitch to 5% at interval 5. Gets kinda wild toward the end. Wanted to go a bit longer, but the machine abruptly just stopped at 32 minutes. I didn't smell any smoke, but it seems I killed it.
