Nice and sunny. Trails softening but still got tossed around.

Chainsawing downed trees from the Thursday storm. Himmelbjerg was almost impassable. Made a few rookies mistakes and got my chainsaw jammed all up in there. Had to get out with some judicious handsawyery. Interesting problem solving and lessons in what not to do. I’m pretty good at figuring stuff out the hard way.

Dry run for 23.2. Just wanted to get the hang of the movements. Will give it a proper go this evening.

Crossfit Open 23.2a and b. Coach Mike agreed to be my judge and with his coaching and special brand of tough love I got 122 reps on A of burpee pullups and windsprints (5 burpee pullups, 10 back and forth windsprints, increasing the BPU by five each round, windsprints stay at 10), which, for now, ties me for 1st worldwide in the 65+ category. Then immediately into the 1 rep max thruster. 5 minutes to get to the heaviest lift possible. I started at 115, flubbed 125 and then squeaked out a lift at 135. Mike gave me the lift, but it was a bit wobbly at the top and a harsher judge would have waved it off. But if Mike called it a rep, it’s a rep.

Time includes warmup.

Today was scheduled to be Murder the Hills day. And so it was. Jordan actually made the trip out and so we trudged off together in the heaviest snow I think I've ever run on. An hour 11 going pretty much flat out to run just over 7k. Still: lovely out there.
