Walk 14:00 [1] 1.13 km (12:23 / km)
A wonderful walk, purely because I saw a kingfisher and I didn't know there were any living along my local stream. A bird flew past me with an orangy-brown underside, which I thought unusual, but then it turned, putting its back to me, and I saw the characteristic bright, electric-blue back and realised it was a kingfisher. It flew down to the stream and I lost it behind some vegetation. I hunted along the stretch of the stream where I lost sight of it, but I never found it again.
However, to compensate the little egret turned up just after the kingfisher disappeared, so I got to see that sitting in the stream, then perching up a tree. So a lovely 5 minutes bird watching, before coming home elated.
