Running (Lake District) 1:56:24 [3] 11.0 km (10:35 / km) +850m 7:38 / km
shoes: Kayano 24

In the Lake District for Lisa's 50th birthday celebration. Staying at Grasmere and had identified a nice looking run up a valley, up a peak and back along the ridge line. Fantastic adventure "run" - ran as much as I could but had to walk the latter part of the climb up the valley and most of the steep pinch from the saddle up to the top of Fairfield (871m). Then back along the ridge to Great Rig and Stone Arthur. Very rocky trail on the steep descent required quite slow jogging as I picked my way down. Definitely not a fell runner! Magnificent scenery all the way on a gloriously sunny morning and lots of stops of photos and general wonderment. Very windy, though, and nearly got blown over a few times by a vicious side wind along the ridgeline on the way back. Would love to come back some day and do some more runs of this nature.

I realised after I got back that I hadn't been the most sensibly equipped runner - only went out with a map, neglecting to take any emergency gear in case the weather changed unexpectedly (or I fell over and got injured - definitely not outside the realms of possibility given my track record!). I have a lovely small running back pack at home for just such purposes, so will bring it on the next trip here.

Lunchtime run with Jon. Very warm and polluted, making it hard to breathe. had to stop a few times to get my breath. Tough run, but good to get it under my belt.

Running (Copenhagen) 38:45 [3] 7.3 km (5:18 / km)
shoes: Kayano 24

Europe seems to be benefiting from a spate of lovely weather and Copenhagen was no exception. Absolutely beautiful morning for a run around the city, taking in some of the sites. The most impressive thing is the cycling networks and infrastructure, which was in full use by hordes of commuting cyclists. They have built a very smart-looking cycle/pedestrian bridge - a great example of Danish design that was also evident in many of the modern and refurbished buildings around the city. Very pleasant run.

MTB 1:49:56 [3] 30.2 km (3:38 / km)

Public holiday and another lovely day. The road bike was missing a pedal after breaking it yesterday so headed out on the mtb - first outing on the mtb for quite a while. Up in to Parc de St Cloud and did a few laps with some nice hills. Nice ride.
