25manna
I decided few hours before the race start that I'm fit for the longer 24th leg which I was assigned for quite some time. I forgot one bag home which contained Voltaren-pills which were supposed to get me through it. I got one Ibuprofein pill from Zeizei which helped a bit. Second problem this bag forgetting led to, was that all of my orienteering clothes were in it. I had only shoes with me (which would've been hard to borrow, even Tuxi and Assu have ½ a number smaller sizes). Got a shirt from Juha P and used my brother's "shorts" and socks.
Before I left out to the woods, I knew that we were dsq. Thus I decided to do a "double or nothing" run.
Half way to #1, some proper orienteer type of guy flew past me. Immediately I thought this was the back to follow. Closer to the cp, I realised he was going way right from the cp. I corrected the direction and found the cp spot on. Few legs of own work and then Halden 2 guy arrived. Because he had "Halden" written on his back, I was sure this was the guy to follow. I managed to stay behind him only 3½ legs, then it got too physical. Then the rest of the way I was more or less on my own. I saw this blue/white Swede here and there but not too much of help from him.
On the way to #11 my back got really bad on a mild down hill. And to top that, I ran way too fast the public control leg (there were too many people cheering!). This led to slow/tired running on rest of the legs. Despite the slow end, I am very pleased about the run. I lost e.g. less than 5min to Tero Föhr and MU's Kale Duck was just ½min faster, eventhough AÖ was sure it would be ten times that (now I know you read this).

Route

I'll write a report to LS-37-site when I have the energy for it. I'll also put pics online some time in near future. They'll include several familiar AP-people.
Edit. And here they are.

And special thanks to news agency Moisku for cheering, yet again!

(rest day)

Looks like I'm going. I'm not even close to 100% condition but I can run (but not go under any branch, fortunately there's no branches in Manna-terrain!). Tomorrow morning I'll decide will I run the long leg or something shorter.

(rest day)

I've gone through of all my drug stashes and found some good stuff. Can't really bend the back but it doesn't hurt. I've also done quite a bit of hanging to stretch the back and it seems to help. I guess tomorrow morning I'll see if I'll hop on the bus or not.

Yökuppi at Pikijärvi.
For some reason my left lower back got worse and worse during the day and before the start it was really bad. I thought I'd still try.
Start was OK. I was leading the pack to #2 but then made a big mistake to #3. Maybe because I wasn't anymore in the lead, I kinda gave up and on the same time I "remembered" my back wasn't in order. Few controls it was OKish but it got really bad after a while. On every control I couldn't pick the emit from the ground level but I had to use the string with which it was attached to the tree and reel it up. I would've DNF if I wouldn't have clear record of points from all the Yökuppi's this season...

We'll see if I'll be able to go to Sweden on friday... Last time when my back was this bad it was two days in bed and over a week of rest from trainings.

My goal for this night was to beat Marika Teenager and it can be counted a success, I guess, but my overall victory from Jusbet got just a bit harder..

Running 35:00 [1] 5.5 km (6:22 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel DS Trainer IX

Mi buttocks are still pretty much sore (from the floorball..) but had to do something so I would be in better shape tomorrow. My goal is to win my brother in Yökuppi overall score but it'll be really difficult. It would mean about 800 points / competition when my average this season has been 620...

Note
(rest day)

I feel like crippled.. Getting onto a bike, cycling to Katrilli and walking normally at the store (and not looking like a zombie) was enough as a physical excercise today. The hits plus being the first floorball training with full intensity made me this way. We'll see if I'm fit even in Yökuppi...

But on the bright side, almost the final online ranking has arrived! I got my all time record points from the Night champs' saturday performance. I might be a point behing being in the 1st class but I'm honestly stoked about the position I'm at (Donald Duck's American Bantam). Last year it was over 300 places worse.
