POM day 4.
That's more like it. Still a lot of mistakes but none of 'em were major. A minute tops.
Key thing might've been that I popped the pillbox open and took two voltarens (though it says 1 max). Back pain was gone but I suppose it also somehow distracted the nervesystem since I e.g. kept on hitting my feet to calves while running fast.
Only real mistakes in first half were #3, #5 and #6. Last one was really fast one though. On the easy part (6-11) I could keep pretty good pace and with minor mistakes. Nothing bad from there on either but gradually the back pain made it's way back. I was surprised those pills worked only 1½-2h. I also got a bit tired and small mistakes appeared almost on every control. On the last long leg (24-25) I got the needed rest for mind and back (mostly soft flat surface) and the ending went again well.

Route. Drawn on top of someone else's map and a week after the race.

Pictures from the trip.

POM day 3.
I knew it's gonna be even harder than yesterday so I thought I was prepared for it. And to the beginning I was.
First 6 controls went OKish. Then on #7 I visited the cp one meter away and wandered few minutes around. #8 with good pace and the pace continued a bit too good towards the #9. Again I passed the control couple of meters away and a bigger mistake was done. Then it went weel up until to #14 but then the blackest moment came on 14-16. Ending again good.

Route

I decided to skip the night sprint cause of the back pains.

Orienteering race 43:23 [4] **** 5.0 km (8:41 / km)

POM 2nd day.
The easy first four controls were easy, and the next 14 hard ones were hard.
GPS curve can speak for itself, so all I'm going to comment is that I read #12 to be on a downhill and not uphill.

POM day 1.
So this was it. Yet again another season opening in Portugal. Weather and back problems tried to put down the feeling but still I was pumped up.
I started the same time as Minttu and I was surprised to see myself in front of her near the #1. She lured me to her #1 and season's first mistake was done. After the first cp I saw sulttaani standing and waiting for me. We continued together. #2 and 3 went well and a small mistake to #4. In there I had to guide sulttaani to the cp. Might've been the first time in my life. 5-7 all good. On #8 I went well 99,5% of the way but stopped one bush too early. I would like to say that the cp was a bit lower than in map.. 9-12 well, with some help from sulttaani. On 13 he said that "go to the road" and I went. One spur too early off and yet another mistake in this very easy terrain. Next ones went well up until on #19 I got one bush away from finding the cp straight up, but ended up using almost 3min getting my thighs all bloody. Again the easy end went well.
Not too happy about the performance considering the level of the terrain. Hard to tell how much the back problem restrained my pace.

Hiking 1:00:00 [1] 8.0 km (7:30 / km)

Trip to spain. Or maybe not. We visited this rock (pic) and the boundary marker (pic) but some references say that the border goes on the road to the right.

Orienteering 35:00 [1] 3.5 km (10:00 / km)

Model Event 3.
World's biggest rock was in this terrain. Humongous. I've seen appartment buildings smaller than that. And the funny thing is that you could run under it.
4 PM

Orienteering 30:00 [1] 2.5 km (12:00 / km)
shoes: VJ Supra stud

Model Event 1.
Right after the first one.
After 2/3 it started a hailstorm. It got a bit chilly.
